On labor day weekend Patrick had a job on the Saturday before Labor Day that he needed to be in Miami for. It was a last minute job, but we decided we'd all go and make a fun weekend out of it. We all enjoyed our view from the hotel we stayed at in Ft. Lauderdale. I love to stand out on the patio in the early morning hours when the sun is coming up and listen to the waves hit the sand. It's so peaceful!
Heading out to go swimming. Some very excited kiddos!
On the way home from Miami we drove thru Lion Country Safari. We've seen the signs for it every time we go that way, and always thought it would be a neat place to take the kids to. Patrick went there as a kid and remembered it as being a neat place. You drive through and right in the pens with all these exotic animals. It was SO cool. It took us two hours to go thru the whole thing and we all enjoyed it. Unfortunately our camera quit working right when we started the tour ,and so I only have a picture of this huge anteater! We saw all kinds of deer, ostriches, zebra, donkeys, lions, hippopotamus, rhinoceros, and more that I'm probably forgetting. It was neat to be that close to the animals. The only rule was to not get out of your vehicles or roll your windows down.
They enjoyed helping Dad drive through the zoo!
